SinuCleanse Squeeze Nasal Wash Kit Review

This is the first product that I have ever used for sinus irrigation, so I can't compare it to the other things on the market. I have only been using this for a week, but I have already gone from taking three doses of Sudafed a day to one, and I could probably stop the one I take first thing in the morning, but I am not that brave, yet.
I have sinus allergies and my headaches have been particularly bad lately, so I finally took the advice that I had been hearing for the last ten years and looked into netti pots. I found this device and thought that it looked easier to use and not as messy, so I gave it a try.
This one came with thirty packets of the powder that you mix with luke warm water to make the solution that you squirt up your nose. It only takes a few seconds to make up the solution and then you lean over the sink, put the nozzle in your nostril, point it toward the back of your head and squeeze half of the solution into your nose. The water runs out your other nostril like magic and then you do the other side. Blow your nose to remove any left over solution. All done.
I thought that it would hurt or be uncomfortable, but as long as you don't snort up the water as you are irrigating, it shouldn't be a big deal. It is just a bit odd the first few times that you do it. You can breathe through your mouth, but I just hold my breathe as I do it, since it doesn't take very long.
I have read that you can mix up your own powder with non-iodized sea salt and baking soda, if you don't want the expense of always buying the pre-measured stuff. I haven't tried it, but I know that you can do a google search for a recipe and to find out more about it.
I saw a video online where Drew, the Toothpaste For Dinner guy, did a netti pot demonstration with coffee and red wine and it gave me the courage to try the tame saline solution method. You might want to google that too, just because it is kind of funny.

NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) Review

NeilMed's Sinus Rinse Pre-Mixed Packets, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)
Average Reviews:

I second the praise others have left for nasal rinsing in general. I suffer from severe allergies, and this has helped orders of magnitude more than anything else. If your nose is so clogged that your antihistamine spray can't work properly, this is the product for you.
It also helps tremendously in the allergen avoidance department. I love being outdoors, but am highly allergic, so I do an extra rinse after a hike and it hardly has time to affect me, when I used to have a huge post-hike crash.
I want to add a word about NeilMed packets specifically. I bought a box of store brand refills thinking it couldn't be any different. I was completely wrong. The store brand was uncomfortable in my nose, and left a bad taste in my mouth that ruined the flavor of food all day for me. I threw out the rest of the box and bought NeilMed refills. They are very comfortable in my nose, and leave only a slight tear-like salty taste in my mouth, if any, which quickly dissipates and doesn't ruin the taste of food at all.

NeilMed NasaFlo Unbreakable Neti Pot with 50 Premixed Packets Review

NeilMed NasaFlo Unbreakable Neti Pot with 50 Premixed Packets
Average Reviews:

I just got this and used it for the first time. I was surprised that the NetiPot I received was actually blue and plastic. I had thought I was getting a ceramic one. But, I have used it once so far and I actually think the plastic is a good thing because it's lightweight while you're holding it up in the air during use. It also has a lid w/ a hole which helps control flow amount.
The packets that came with it seem fine, but I'll probably just mix my own salt in after I run out. Would definitely order this one again in the future!
Also, for those of you who can't decide whether you will be able to do this, will like it, etc. I thought $12 wasn't a bad trial rate, especially since NeilMed has a satisfaction guarantee for 90 days. And, I think you'll be surprised at how pleasant it feels when you get the water temp right!

Sinus Rinse Refill Packets 100 Ea Review

Sinus Rinse Refill Packets 100 Ea
Average Reviews:

The packets are great to use along with this system of sinus rinsing. They are easier than mixing your own which I have done for the past year. It's a lot more expensive though. So to save money you could use the packets just for travel or when you are in a hurry. The correct proportions for do it yourself though are: 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. baking soda to 8 oz of water. That mixture will not burn nor will these handy premixed packets. I also love the squirt bottle system that Neilmed has. It does a good job and helps me have fewer sinus infections when I do it twice a day.

Xlear Netixlear Saline Nasal Wash with Xylitol, 20-Count Review

Xlear Netixlear Saline Nasal Wash with Xylitol, 20-Count
Average Reviews:

This product is typical of the items in the Xlear lines, with the xylitol, which has natural antibacterial properties, but it was VERY difficult to dissolve in the warm water. The packets are made of porous paper and seemed to have absorbed water or moisture from the air at some point, and were solid little bricks when I got them. Every time I need to use a packet, I have to put it in a ramekin and crush it with the back edge of a spoon, and even then, it doesn't dissolve well. I was disappointed in this, as I really find their nasal sprays to be very effective. If they packaged the product in a plastic or metallic packet, it would probably be much better. If the formulation was made to a finer grain, it would be excellent.

Neilmed's Sinus Rinse, Pediatric, Bottle Kit for Saline Nasal Rinse Review

Neilmed's Sinus Rinse, Pediatric, Bottle Kit for Saline Nasal Rinse
Average Reviews:

Excellent size for children. Pre-mixed packets make prep easy.
One of our youngest family members (7 years old) suffers from spring time allergies. Running nose, post-nasal drip, clogged-up nose, can't breathe through the nose and ends up snoring and not getting a good night's sleep.
After working through the initial resistance (about a week) of having squirt water up one's nose and a little practice (good instructions with the kit) and making sure the water/solution was the right temp, the little guy got the hang of it and can complete the rinse quickly. Sometimes we get commentary on what's exiting his nasal passages. (Sorry about that - TMI - he's 7 - what else can one expect?)
Even after two allergy seasons, he's only "okay" with it, but does it anyway because he likes that he can breathe easily at bedtime.

Neti Stik Energize Aromatherapy Inhaler Review

Neti Stik Energize Aromatherapy Inhaler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great product that I would definitely buy again. I used it several times the first day I got it, and my aggravated left sinus and ear were totally fine the next day. I wouldn't expect the product to totally clean out your sinuses like the neti pot does, but for quick, convenient relief (without the mess), this is awesome. Just breathe in slowly and deeply to get the full effect from your nasal passages down to your bronchial tubes.
